Paving Foreman

Location: Burnaby, BC
Pay: $38–$45 per hour, based on experience

Description:

Burnaby Blacktop Ltd. is looking for an experienced Paving Foreman to lead asphalt paving crews on municipal, commercial, and industrial projects. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who takes pride in quality work, safety, productivity, and cost control.

Experience Required:

• Minimum 3–5 years of asphalt paving experience, with foreman or lead hand experience

Qualification:

What We’re Looking For

• Strong knowledge of paving operations, grading, and equipment
• Experience with job costing, daily reports, and production tracking
• Ability to lead a crew and communicate clearly on-site
• Strong safety mindset and problem-solving skills
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 3 is an asset)
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Responsibilities:

What You’ll Do

• Lead and supervise paving crews on-site
• Plan daily work activities and coordinate crew, equipment, and materials
• Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification
• Read and interpret drawings, grades, and site plans
• Work closely with project managers and superintendents
• Complete accurate job costing, including labor, equipment, and material tracking
• Monitor productivity and adjust operations to stay on budget
• Enforce safety policies and maintain a clean, organized job site
• Train and mentor crew members
