Education Requirement:

High School

Experience Required:

At least 1 year experience as an Asphalt Roller Man

Qualification:

Attention to detail
Valid Driver’s License is required
Should have good eye-hand coordination and great driving skills
High level of alertness and concentration
Must live within commutable distance of our office in Burnaby

Skills:

Should have great communication skills (English)
Must be able to work with projects around Lower Mainland with minimum supervision
Must be able to handle the physical demands of the job
Happy working in a team environment
Must be willing to work flexible hours

Responsibilities:

Finish HMA with steel drum and combination rollers
Load and offload
Hand finishing details with plate packers
Drives machine in consecutive overlapping passes over surfaces that need to be compacted, rolling asphalt to desired smoothness and compaction
Will attend to minor equipment maintenance inspections such as checking oil, greasing, checking transmission fluid and water
Should determine speed and direction of machine according to knowledge of compressibility of material under changing temperatures
Will operates hand roller, wacker, hand tamp over areas that are not accessible to road roller
Attend to other duties as assigned

Work Hours:

9 a.m - 5 p.m
